On Sunday, August 16, 2009, age 88, of Rocky Mount, NC, formerly of Munhall. Retired Design Draftsman from U.S. Steel, Air Force Veteran of WWII, member of Homestead United Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge F&AM #582, Syria Temple, Harige Unit and past sec. of Steel Valley Caravan #24. Beloved husband of Peggy Blanchard Hencz; loving father of Shari (Jack) Dunn of Rocky Mount, NC and Vickie (Tom) Lawrence of White Oak. Cherished grandfather of Matthew and Benjamin Dunn, Tommy (Dr. Kerith) Lawrence, Lorri (Jeffrey) MacHarg, Amanda (Jason) Burroughs and 4 great grandchildren; also nieces and nephews. Friends received 7-9PM Thursday & 2-4 and 7-9PM Friday at the GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3511 Main Street, Munhall where service will be held Saturday at 11:00am. Masonic Service Friday 7:30pm

Our family wishes to extend our most heartfelt condolences and prayers in honor of Mano, a simple and giving man. He was my mother's (Margarette's) brother, and related to me how he and his siblings enjoyed life on their father's farm in earlier years. Through his growing family his memory will carry on. My entire family -- near and far -- laments the passing of this good man; may he find peace in Heaven.

Manny was a beloved,founding member of Steel Valley Arts Council. We have many great memories of Manny advocating for the arts in our area. He had many talents and was generous in sharing them. I will always remember the beautiful calligraphy that came from his hand, the intelligence that sparkled through his blue eyes,how his mouth twitched under his mustache revealing that he was about to tell a joke, and his kind heart. Peggy, my thoughts are with you.
