George Tupman Obituary

George R. Tupman, 66, of Memphis, TN, died suddenly June 20, 2009. He was a retired teacher and multi-sports coach for Memphis City Schools for over 30 years. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and was a member of the 1962 Ole Miss football team, that won the national championship and is memorialized on the Walk of Champions in The Grove on the campus of Ole Miss. He is survived by his son, Darren Tupman; daughter, Andrea Daggett; sister, Wanda Ruiz; two brothers, Stanley and Bryan Tupman and six grandchildren. Services will be at noon Friday, June 25, at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. There will be a visitation from 12-1 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at Boone-Card Funeral Home in Indianola, MS with a service at 1 p.m., with interment to follow in Indianola City Cemetery. I am at a loss for words!! I have known George since we were babies-I have pictues!! Our Mothers' even had the same first name -Inez, & were best friends. Even tho I haven't seen George in a few years, we have stayed in touch & I & my family will have all of George's family in our prayers.
