I grew up with Jess around Mt. Vernon, Arkansas. We all were hill farmers and tried to make a living by raising cotton and corn. Jess was a good worker. I remember riding in the back of a open farm truck with his family for about 150 miles to pick cotton at Gould, Arkansas. We were there for about 2 to 3 weeks and tried to earn enouh money buy our school clothes. We would earn about $3 to $4 dollars a day by working hard all day long. We also had lots of fun and made memories.
May the Lord sustain the family today and always.

My memories of Uncle Jess' visits with silly jokes and ability to talk anyone through hard times are some of the things I will miss most. My heart is broken-for all of us. We love you all, and are here for you.
