I first met Joanie when my son Colton and her son Jason became best friends in the early 2000´s. She was a blast to be around with the most contagious laugh. She loved to talk about her favorite bands, Cleveland sports teams, the Twinsburg pool as well as sharing stories of growing up in Cleveland. My husband´s sisters went to St Joseph´s just like Joanie so the more we got to know her, the more commonalities we found. We moved out of Ohio in 2007 but we still kept in touch occasionally over the years and she´d come see us when we came back in town to visit family. I miss her, she was one of a kind. She had a deep love for people and her family.

When Joanie and I worked at the drug company and shared doctor lunches and programs we had so many laughs and entirely too much fun! We´d start laughing and never stop! She had the best laugh of anyone I knew and I always looked forward to catching up and everything new with her and her wonderful family! Joanie had a strong faith and fiercely loved her family and God. I´ll miss you Joanie and know God has you in his hands right now and know someday we´ll meet again! Linda Penney

Joanie and I were classmates at St. Joseph Academy, I, too, became a Registered Dietitian and smiled when I read we shared the same career choice.
My sympathy to Joanie´s husband and family. Wishing you peace as you find comfort in the wonderful memories you have.

Even though it has been a long time since I´ve seen my aunt joanie, I will always remember how kind, sweet, and funny my aunt Joanie was. I´m so blessed to have had her as my god mother and have such fond memories of her from when I was little. She never failed to make me feel included and loved and am so blessed to have gotten to spend quality time with her and her family as a child. I remember she loved my uncle Jim and cousins Julie and Jason so much. I learned so much from her and know she is up in heaven. Sending so much love and light during this time.

Sending hugs to all who knew and will always love Joanie.
I met Joanie many years ago at the Twinsburg pool. I´m a fellow mermaid. I always look forward to chatting with her and hearing about her family which she spoke of lovingly. She was a ray of sunshine. Her deeply felt vibrant laugh and cheeriness reliably had made the pool a fun place to be. When I didn´t see her at the pool I knew something must have happened. I was so happy hear she made it to a pool before she passed. Please know she was deeply loved by all of us at the pool. She will surely be missed.

I had the opportunity to work with Joan for a few years and it was so very enjoyable. I loved her enthusiasm, intelligence and positivity, as well as her "comic relief". I am blessed to have had her as a friend and will miss her!

Joan and I worked together for many years at GCW. I had the pleasure of training her day 1 from most recently, working with her with our DPP classes, something she was so passionate about. Joan lit up any room she walked into. Her smile was contagious. Anytime I saw an email from her pop up in my inbox, I knew I was in for a giggle and a smile. Joan you will be incredibly missed. Rock on in Heaven

Joan came into my life when we both were health coaches for GemCare Wellness. She was so much fun to work with, and her smile and happy attitude was infectious. She will be missed by us all. I'll especially miss her sense of humor and laugh. I'll remember her always.

I first met Joanie at GemCare when we trained together-she became a wonderful friend! She was the most positive person I have ever met and we always had the best time together-at work or meeting with other Dietitians for dinner and drinks. She had the best stories and was full of life! We shared a love of dogs and rock bands and both being baby boomers! I can still hear her laugh! I will miss her so. Joanie-rock on in Heaven with all of the musicians who are there waiting for you! I will miss you my friend but I cherish the memories I have. -Robin Doidge

Joan and I go way back to when our children were little in school. She was a great mother to Jason and Julie who supported them in all their activities and academics. I loved Joan´s gut laugh and constant smile on her face. She was a loyal friend and confident. I hope she´s Rocking On in heaven and having a few laughs will family and friends who welcomed her with open arms! She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Rest easy dear friend, until we meet again!
