John Doherty Obituary
John was born in August 1951 to Francis and Kathleen (Tivnan) Doherty and resided in the Bronx for most of his life. After high school, John apprenticed to be an electrician and was a proud member of IBEW Local 3 for more than 40 years.
John is survived by his son Frank and grandchildren Juliette and Lillian, and his other son Christopher, Christopher's wife Ivonne and daughter Jadyn. He also leaves his sisters Maura and Jo Anne and two brothers, Frank and Michael.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later time.

Sometimes , if you are blessed enough , you may encounter a familiar soul along the way that manages to touch a special place in your heart . If you pay close attention , they may even teach you some valuable lessons , you hadn't the slightest idea you needed to learn . Thank you John for sharing your warmth and wisdom , I am grateful more than words can express . May your smile and adventure be present wherever your spirit flies . And may you rest assured you can remain proud of what you have left behind in this world . Much love , blessings and deepest condolences to the Doherty family . And most loving regards to my brothers , Christopher and Frankie always .

The (far too few) times I had the pleasure of being around John, he was smiling, laughing, and joking, much like in those beautiful photos of him above. That's how I'll always remember him. And I know a large part of why he was so happy whenever I saw him was because of how proud he was of his two sons, Chris and Frankie. Lots of love to them and the rest of his family.
