JOHN T.
Peacefully, on Thursday, October 23, 2003, at age 86, John T. Such of Stanton Heights, formerly of McKeesport. Beloved husband of the late Emillie Anne (Kyslinger) Such; loving father of Emillie Mary and Joan Such Lockhart; brother of the late Ann Matason and step-brother to John and Joseph Pascuta. From 1937-1939, John was an AAU Boxer and he won the Pittsburgh Sun Telegraph Diamond Belt Award in 1938 and 1939. He served during WW II in the ETO as an Army Military Policeman. John retired from the US Steel Irvin Works after over 35 years of service. He was a member of the VFW, SOAR (Steelworker Organization of Active Retirees)-District 10/Local 02227, and the Elks Lodge of Pittsburgh-Number 11. Friends received Saturday 7-9 PM and Sunday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the STRIFFLER FUNERAL HOME, corner of Market & Sixth Street in McKeesport. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius V Church at 2911 Versailles Avenue in McKeesport 10 AM on Monday. Entombment the Lebanon Church Mausoleum. For over 5 years, John attended Adult Day Services at Council Care/Irving Spolan Center where he experienced a loving, caring environment that provided social activities such as music, dancing, and art that enabled him to enjoy life to the fullest. The family suggests that Memorial Contributions be made to the John T. Such Memorial Music Center, Council Care/Irving Spolan Center, Squirrel Hill, 300 JHF Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15217.
