Karen Sue Howart

Karen Sue Howart (née Burgess), aged 77, passed away on May 25, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on August 25, 1945, in Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. Burgess and Shirley Burgess Wells.

Karen's early education took place at Civic Park Elementary followed by Old Northern High School. Throughout her life, Karen expressed a profound love for animals, a passion that was evident since her childhood. Her professional journey began at Flint Manufacturing, and she later owned and operated Radiator Dave's on Dort Highway.

Karen was not only a businesswoman but also a creative soul who enjoyed crocheting and making beaded jewelry. She cherished shopping and lunch outings, especially those shared with her sister Carol Ann and mother Shirley.

She is survived by her children, Tammy Ray (Gary), John Groves (Lynette), and Kelly Taylor (Joe); her brother, Jeff Burgess (Amy); grandchildren Ronald, Brandon, Amanda, David, Tanner, and Alyssa; great-granddaughters Hailey, Zoey, and Leo; and her brother-in-law, Mike Csintyan. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Ralph E. Burgess; mother, Shirley Burgess Wells; stepfather, Richard Wells; sister, Carol Ann; and the love of her life, David Howart Sr.

Cremation has taken place in Nashville, TN, as per her wishes. Karen's memory will be cherished by all who knew her, leaving a legacy of love, creativity, and kindness.
