age 79 of Perry Township, died Aug. 29, 2014. She was born on Feb. 26, 1935 in Bergholz, Ohio, the daughter of Mary Parsons and the late Kenneth Parsons. She graduated from Springfield Local High School in 1953. Kay owned Kay's Auditing & Bookkeeping until retiring in 2001. She was a member of Reedurban Presbyterian Church. She married Thomas D. McRoberts on June 28, 1957 and the couple celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2007. They had two sons. Tommy passed away on Feb. 17, 2008. Kay loved her sons and was so proud of them. She cherished all of her family and loyal friends that were always together for over 40 years.
She loved to cook, laugh, and loved her Cleveland Indians, March Madness, high school basketball, and college football. She was a bowler, knitter, and quilter who enjoyed antiques, and was an avid reader. Kay was a member of the Chatty Crafters, Catsmeow Collectors Club, Canton Lincoln Alumni Assoc., The Niles Gymanfa Ganu Assoc. (Welsh Club), and a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority (Epsilon Chapter) of which she was proud to be crowned 1962 Queen of Hearts.
She is survived by her sons, David T. McRoberts of Canton, Patrick L. (Jessica L.) McRoberts of New York, N.Y.; mother, Mary Parsons; brother Dale (Linda) Linda Parsons of Mesa, Ariz.; Brother, Ken (Edie) Parsons of Louisville, Ohio; sister, Margaret Fagan of Woodstock, Ga.; sister, Gwen (Jack) Fairidey of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and brother-in-law, Pat McRoberts of Brecksville, Ohio; special cousins, Sally Schweitzer and the Bamberger girls; many, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held at Reed Funeral Home, 705 Raff Rd SW, Canton on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014 from 5 to 8p.m. Church Service will be held at Reedurban Presbyterian Church, 1145 Perry Drive NW Canton on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 11a.m. Entombment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Memorial Donations can be made in her name to Reedurban Presbyterian Church (www.reedurbanpc.com) and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Stark and Carroll Counties (www.habitatstark.org). Aunt Kay was perhaps the only person in my life who always had a smile and the most contagious sense of humor of anyone I have ever known. I know the past seven years were hard for her but she would never show it. Such a gracious and sweet lady who will be surely missed by many who had the good fortune to know her. Love you Aunt Kay
