Rockwell City- Keith T. Roos, 65 passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Church of Christ, Rockwell City with Pastor Ken Greeley officiating. Burial will be in Lake Creek Township Cemetery, Rockwell City. Friends may call after 4:30 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Keith is survived by his wife, Ramona of Rockwell City; son, Thomas Roos (Alicia) of Spencer; daughter Karen Roos (Sean Johnson) of Ankeny; twin grandsons, Foster and Brayden; sister, Susan Spector of Apple Valley, MN; nephew, Joshua Spector; niece, Anna Spector; aunts, uncles and numerous cousins; and faithful friend his dog, Spud. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Gerry Lou (Gardner) Roos. Keith Thomas Roos was born February 24, 1952 in Moses Lake, WA. He grew up in Rushmore, MN and graduated from high school in Worthington, MN in 1970. He was united in marriage to Ramona Hawkinson in 1974 in Worthington, MN. Keith worked for the Minnesota DNR and taught Natural Resource Technology at Jackson Minnesota Technical school before moving to Rockwell City, Iowa where he began his 30-year career as Calhoun County Conservation Director, Zoning Administrator and Weed Commissioner. Keith retired in May of 2017. Keith was a gentle person and was deeply devoted to his family and friends. He had a special wit and sense of humor that could brighten anyone's day. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed boating, hunting, and fishing but most of all enjoyed time spent with his family. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
