Maria was a dear friend. She was a very active member of Caring and Sharing, a local Mississauga charity and a long standing member of the Port Credit Zone. She had a generous heart and will be dearly missed.

The Ambiance Singers and members of the Earl Nelham Singers express to Maria´s family and friends our sincere condolences. Mary Lou a past member expressed this beautiful sentiment "you and I know the value of artistic expression in our lives and while it is sad to see another voice stilled, we can continue to be thankful that we sang and we sang together with joy!" Maria "thanks for the memories ".

I hadn´t seen Maria in years but was delighted to see her YouTube video making cappelletti. I told her so and we briefly talked about visiting on the West Coast. Wished we had followed up on that...My condolences to her loving family.

I can´t believe she´s gone. I´ve known Maria since our days in Dufferin-Peel and since her retirement she´s been both neighbour and friend. She was a warm and infinitely kind person who helped me through my grief when my husband David passed suddenly, young, as her David had years before. Book club was full of laughter and our dinners full of talk of her sons, daughters in law and grandchildren. Maria knew how to show love and kindness and she´ll be greatly missed.

I first met Maria in 1984. I was driving up Fletcher Valley Crescent towards home with my youngest child Mark in the back seat. Suddenly I spotted a young woman walking along with 3 tiny boys in tow. The oldest, (Michael) looked about Mark´s age and I thought he might be a prospective playmate. I stopped the car and got out and introduced myself. Sure enough, the De Eyre family had recently moved into the neighbourhood. We instantly became friends as did the boys. We used to joke that Mark fit right in with the DeEyre kids, even looked a bit like them! Over the years the boys have grown up, had families of their own and we have all had full full and happy lives. Maria and I have never lost our connection and as late as last weekend were exchanging our Wordle scores. So many happy memories of our 40 plus years of friendship. I will miss you so much my friend!

I offer my sincere condolences to Maria´s family . Maria was part of my staff in her role of Manager of Health Promotion and Wellness in Dufferin - Peel. Maria was an excellent manager who was very knowledgeable in her field. She supported the employees who needed help and followed all board policies to ensure her department was effective in promoting health and wellness in the board . I admired her strength of character as she provided her leadership in her demanding role in the Board. Maria was always confident in any decision that she recommended to myself and the board.
It was an honour to have Maria as part of my staff in Employee Relations .
May she rest in eternal peace .

I feel so lucky to have had the chance to get to know Maria in the past year and spend some time with her. What always stood out to me was the love that she had for her sons, their partners, and her grandchildren. She cherished Sunday dinners with them so much. She also always showed such compassion and concern for her friends and family. She shared great stories and demonstrated such an incredible passion for the arts and music. Her attitude in the face of health challenges was inspiring. I will miss our chats and her humour. My condolences to the whole family.

One of a kind...my rock! Not only my sister but best friend, confidant, nuturor, life coach, always had my back, no questions asked. There´s a big Wizard game going on up there right now and a bunch of rum and cokes being poured....lots of rum...splash of coke! Beatles, rod stewart. Joni Mitchell songs blasting. Love you Maria!
