Marsha Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 15, 2024.
Marsha Ann "Mimi" Anderson, 74, of Madisonville, Louisiana, passed away on January 14, 2024. She was born on January 8, 1950, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Marsha, known fondly as Mimi, was a fighter who loved life. She had a great smile and sense of humor, and she always had a giving spirit.

Marsha had many hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. She had a green thumb and was an avid gardener. Her plants thrived under her care, as she had a natural talent for nurturing and growing beautiful flowers and plants. In addition to gardening, Marsha enjoyed quilting, baking, knitting, and crafting. She had a creative spirit and loved expressing herself through her various crafts. Marsha was also known for her love of cannonballs, as she would fearlessly dive into the water and make a big splash.

Marsha is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Freddie Anderson, whom she married in 1972. She is also survived by her brothers, Lyman Ellzey Jr. and Brendan Ellzey, her sons Brady Anderson and Christopher Anderson, and their wives Jane and Angie respectively. Marsha was a proud grandmother to Ashlynn, Sydney, and Joss Anderson, who brought immense joy to her life. She also considered her nieces, Rebecca and Margaret Grace Ellzey, as grandchildren.

Marsha was preceded in death by her mother, Elise Marie Ellzey (nee Pellissier), her father, Lyman Ellzey Sr., and her sister, Pamela Early.

A celebration of life will be held in the springtime of 2024, Mimi's favorite time of year, to honor Marsha's memory and the impact she had on the lives of those who knew and loved her.

May her soul rest in peace.

To all of the Anderson family,
I'm truly sorry for your loss. Your wife, mother and Mimi sounds like a wonderful person who left many happy memories for all of you. I'm positive she was a special human being as I have the pleasure of working with her son Brady who is a reflection of her and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you while you learn to navigate life without her.

Sincerely, Paula

Miss Marsha and Mr. Fred moved to our little country community several years back. Their son was a co-worker with my husband so therein our connection. What a blessing they were to us. We would share meals & desserts... I have several cherished handmade gifts from her... she was so talented & thoughtful. Cookie trays at Christmas, oh & her fig cakes were my favorite. Hands down she will forever be remembered for her cinnamon rolls by many. Most importantly she & Mr. Fred were part of my daughter´s journey... they embraced her, loved on her, encouraged her... she enjoyed baking, and a host of other crafty times with them. What a blessing! Love you, Miss Marsha.
