Martha M. Niro

WILLOUGHBY — Martha M. Niro, age 61, of E. Satin St., Jefferson, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, March 11, 2010, in the emergency room, at Lake West Hospital, Willoughby.
She was born Jan. 4, 1949, in Chardon, the daughter of Alvie and Sylvia (Johnson) Reed and resided in Chardon and Painesville prior to moving to Jefferson in 1997. She was married to Steven R. Niro, on July 20, 1996, in Leroy Township.
Mrs. Niro worked for many years at Pentair Water Treatment in Chardon and was currently a student at the Cleveland Institute of Dental-Medical Assisting.
She was a member of the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene and a former volunteer for Hospice of the Western Reserve. She was proud that she was a Life Banc Donor. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her granddaughters.
Survivors include her husband, Steven R. Niro; her mother, Sylvia Reed of Leroy Township; five children, Thomas F. Halfhill Jr. of Cleveland, Clifford D. (Becky Spalding) Halfhill of Wickliffe, Melissa M. (Halfhill) Simak of Greensboro, N.C., Michelle R. (Halfhill) Chapman of Unionville and Steven R. Niro Jr. of Eastlake; two granddaughters, Nichole M. Simak and Clarisse R. Chapman; two brothers, Danny (Kim) Reed of Chardon and Randy Reed of Leroy Township; and two sisters, Sandy (Richard) Evans of Thompson and Debbie Greene of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvie Reed; and a son-in-law, Timothy W. Chapman.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 16th, at Jefferson Church of the Nazarene, 55 E. Satin St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Jack Davis officiating.
Calling Hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 15th, at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING and BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson.
