Michael Lazzarini

Michael W. Lazzarini, a proud second-generation native of San Francisco, California, passed away peacefully at his home in Sparks, Nevada, on October 28, 2024, at the age of 81, with his wife by his side. Born on August 7, 1943, to Aldo and Gladys (Boone) Lazzarini, Michael's life was a testament to dedication and community spirit.

After graduating from Archbishop Riordan High School in 1960, Michael served honorably in the United States Air Force. He then embarked on a remarkable career in the computer industry, making significant contributions to the cyber security community at Lawrence Livermore National Labs until his retirement in 2004. His passion for nurturing talent shone through his nearly three decades of coaching soccer in Livermore, Oakley, and Concord, where he inspired countless athletes at many levels.

Michael's life was enriched by his commitment to family and community. He moved to Washington state to support his aging in-laws and found camaraderie with "The Geezers" from The Sons of Italy. Later, he settled in Sparks, Nevada, to be closer to his children and grandchildren, where he spent his final years.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Roberta "Robin" (Madrid) Lazzarini; his siblings, Patricia Rawlinson, Margaret Lazzarini, and Robert Lazzarini; his children, Michael "Mick," Kimberly, and Anthony (Melissa); and his cherished grandsons, Michael, Joshua, Nico, Marco, and Dominic. Michael also leaves behind numerous other relatives and friends who will fondly remember his warmth and generosity.

Michael will be laid to rest at the Italian Cemetery in Colma, California, where his legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.
