On Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at approximately 7:47 a.m. PST, our loving God dealt our Michael Sunseri the gentlest hand and took him home to live in heaven. Michael (Mike) was the first son of a first son, born to Salvatore and Louise Sunseri on June 11, 1941, in the East Liberty area of Pittsburgh. He attended elementary school at St. Anne's and graduated high school at North Hills, a member of the very first class at the new school. Mike attended one year of college at Trinidad College, and another year at Clarion College (both on scholarship) before enlisting in the US Navy in 1961. After discharge from the Navy, he began a long and successful career in automobile sales and management. In 1968, Mike met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Munio. They courted for three years before marrying on July 10, 1971 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Glenshaw. At the time he died, Mike was in the middle of planning two surprise birthday parties for Pat, one in Vegas on August 17th and the other in Pittsburgh on August 25th. He stated several times, "if anyone deserves two birthday parties, its Pat." Mike is survived by his beloved Patricia. As the oldest child of four, Mike took his eldest brother role very seriously and enjoyed a close and loving relationship with his sisters, Marguerite Sunseri (deceased), Marianne Sunseri-Mengine (Charles), and his brother, Vincent Sunseri. He also loved his cousin, Charles (Jonesy) Glasso as a brother. In addition to his wife and siblings, Mike is survived by many nieces and nephews, including: Mary Louise Youchak (Stephen and children, Isabelle, Gabriel); Anthony Mengine (Beth and children, Michael, Anthony, Alexander); Salvatore Mengine (daughters, Ava, Aliya); Charles Mengine (Claudia and children, Luna, Charles, Raven); Nicole Jones (Bryan and children, Giovanna, Bella); Vincent Sunseri; Joseph Sunseri; Jacqueline Munio-Schnupp (Bill and children, Bill Jr. Trish, Jake); Albert Munio (and daughter, Kalia); Tamara Munio-Jereczek (John and children, Halle, Ella, John, Jr.); Tonya Munio-Boydston (Jason and Lola). Mike loved Las Vegas and gambling - he had too many friends to list, but he loved spending time with his great and dependable buddy, Erik Moll, commenting often that "family is not always blood." Mike also adored his home town of Pittsburgh - he loved the Steelers, the Pirates and the Pens, and Mike successfully converted all of his Idaho relatives and Vegas friends to be rabid fans as well. Mike was game for anything, and to quote Patricia "he was pretty hardy for a city boy." He accompanied his Idaho family on snowmobiling trips in Sun Valley, waterskiing adventures in Cascade, and was eagerly looking forward to this year's camping trip in Coeur d'Alene. Visitation will be Thursday and Friday, August 22-23, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at PERMAN FUNERAL HOME, 923 Saxonburg Boulevard, Pittsburgh PA 15223. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. EST, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 2510 Middle Road, Glenshaw PA 15116. The family respectfully suggests donations be made to The American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205. Mike was an adamant supporter of this charity, given his sister, Marianne's battle with the disease. www.donate3.cancer.org. Leave condolences at www.permanfuneralhome.com

I’m not sure how my family of Hampton twp. I am 60 now and I can’t believe how may time over the years I’d run into him .

Where he worked. Krebs and kings ,
North hills Chrysler. My mother and father went bowling with him and Pat
Sunday evenings on a couples league.
I’d see him weekly at Alexander’s Athletic club when he was in town .

Dear Family & Friends of Mike,
We're so sorry to hear of your loss. Your family invited Joseph Moll and I as additions to your full house of family, to share a wonderfully home cooked holiday meal and football on the tv in Vegas. Thank you for your warm hospitality, fun times and laughter. Our prayers are with you for angels and God to help your hearts heal for those grieving on earth and welcome Mike into the Heavens. All our love and sympathies, Sincerely, Jennifer Hall

Dear Pat and Sunseri Family,
Words cannot express how very deeply saddened I am by the great loss of my very dear friend Michael. As he did with countless others, Michael made a huge impact on my and the entire Moll Family(s) lives. He was a giant of a man with a caring heart of gold.
I will never forget so many, many good times and laughs shared with Mike throughout the years over great conversation, time shared together over a plethora of wonderful meals, watching Steelers and many other football games (too numerous to count), spending time as a welcomed guest of your beautiful Pittsburgh and Las Vegas homes, fun times of gambling and laughs at the Suncoast, Red Rock, Bellagio, Mirage, Flamingo etc., Mike getting me tickets for the Rolling Stones concert at the MGM Grand Garden Arena (and even going to the show with me!), hosting us at the Pens vs. Red Wings game at Civic Arena in celebration of my brother Erik's birthday, attending numerous shows at the Suncoast, hosting my sister Deanna's wedding at Canyon Gate Country Club, my first ever experience at Primanti Bros., attending Catholic mass and praying together, the many times our families spent together over Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and other holidays, our day trip from Glenshaw to Ohio to visit mutual friends, listening to Buck Owens and the Buckaroos while riding along with Mike, the many times Mike called to check in and see how I was doing....and the memories go on and on.
Most importantly though, I will never forget how Mike was there for me when I lost my Mother. He called me time and again to check in and see how my family and I were doing, if we needed anything, and to make sure we were ok. He often said that Mom, my family and I were in his prayers... and now he will always be remembered in ours.
Michael was so much more than just a friend to me (and the entire Moll family) and as quoted per Michael in his obituary "family is not always blood" rings true, for his friendship meant so very much more to me (us) personally.
With that, I want you to know Pat, how truly thankful and blessed myself and the entire Moll family feel having had the pleasure of Michael in our lives and sharing these past 20+ years with both of you and the extended Sunseri family too. Memories of Michael and his friendship, love and support will forever remain in our hearts.
God Bless both you and Michael, and may his soul rest lovingly forever in Gods awaiting arms.
Sincerely with Love - we are here for you,
Joseph Moll and the Moll Family

I had the pleasure to meet and know Mike while we sold cars together at Jack Sullivan's. He always had a smile and a story. Mike was one of the nicest folks I'd ever met. Just last week, my wife and I drove past their house. We both said we should stop and say hello. I'm so sorry I just found out today about Mikes passing. Sympathy to his family and especially to Pat.

Dear Pat, I am saddened by the loss of Michael,
your wonderful husband, and a beloved classmate
in our Mighty Class of '59 North Hills H.S.
Mike played football with my cousins, the Abel boys,
so I often heard what a great asset he was with our team.
I remember that Mike was always pleasant, had a friendly smile,
and was well liked by all.
Seems that those special traits remained with him throughout his life.
In loving memory of a great guy!
