Mindy Merdinger Blackstock Obituary
Mindy had a profound love for knitting, music, literature, a love of Israel and involvement with Young Judaea. She cherished her time spent in Amherst, Massachusetts, with her maternal grandparents and held a special place in her heart for her daughter, Bayla. Her life was a testament to the beauty of genuine connections, devotion to her family and the joy of shared experiences.
Mindy is survived by her beloved daughter, Bertha Bayla Blackstock; her parents, Susan Greenfield (Norberto de la Rosa) and Edward Merdinger (Marsha); her brother, Matthew Merdinger (Maya Levy Merdinger), and their children, Ellie and Eytan; and her devoted life partner, Andrew Lambert, along with his son, Austin.
A graveside funeral took place on October 16 at the Independent Workmen's Circle Cemetery on Baker Street in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. A memorial service followed on October 20 at the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue in New York, New York, where over 300 family and friends gathered to honor her memory.

I just learned of Mindy's death and I am terribly saddened. I had been in touch with her just before her surgery and it seemed as if the future was positive. I and my husband, the late Rabbi Meir Berger, knew Mindy from Fort Lee and I was so happy to meet her again at the Stephen Wise Synagogue when we moved to Manhattan in 2016.
Even though we only met a few times after that, I always looked forward to seeing her. She had a beautiful spirit that was expressed in all she did, and I shall miss her very, very much. May her memory be a blessing.
