Molly Elizabeth Hunt

Molly Elizabeth Hunt, age 34, of Laguna Beach, California. Molly was a beautiful and brilliant young woman who had a special ability to form meaningful connections with people from all walks of life and had extraordinary compassion for those who were struggling. She loved tennis, gardens, reading, and listening to music. She reflected a unique sense of style in her interests which included creative writing, mathematics, and fashion. She was also known for sending thoughtful handwritten correspondence.

While her family and friends will greatly miss Molly, we find comfort knowing that she is in Heaven, reunited with her beloved older brother Tommy Shult who tragically passed away in 2001. We are strengthened by knowing that Molly was welcomed into her new life with the warm embrace of Jesus, Tommy, her grandparents, cousins Tyler and Chandra, Uncle Don, and Aunt Diane.

Molly was a beautiful child with dark hair and a sweet disposition. Strangers often remarked that she looked like a doll. As a child, Molly was rather quiet and obedient, but her parents and sister know that she often stayed up late at night by herself, singing and playing contentedly. Molly spent her childhood in Minnesota, Tennessee, Arizona, and Colorado. Molly excelled at academics and was the Valedictorian of her high school class before she attended Duke University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she graduated in 2012. After college, Molly moved to New York and then California, having jobs in recruiting and finance.

Molly enjoyed the company of her large extended family and many friends and especially treasured being an aunt. She is survived and will be missed by her husband Patrick Hunt; her parents, Ona Rygh and Robin Shult; sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca Shult and Eric Grovender; nephews Thomas and Lucas; many aunts and uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial honoring Molly's life at Woodbury Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 18. The Service at 11:00AM will follow Visitation at 10:00AM.
