Randy Earl Ross

Ross, Randy Earl 61 Aug. 18, 1953 June 07, 2015 Randy died early Sunday morning, June 7, 2015, at Providence Hospital. On the preceding Saturday, he was visited by many, many friends and family members. The second floor hallway at Providence was continually occupied by those who wanted just one more visit and perhaps another story or two. He was born in Vancouver to Alvin and Evelyn (Miller) Ross. He was the youngest of their three children. He attended Portland's William Clark Elementary and Marshall High schools, where he met several lifelong friends. In 1978, he married Darlene Treblehorn Czeluscinski. Together they raised Darlene's two small children, Cyndi and Jamie. He went to work for ILWU Local 40 in 1981. He served as a supervisor/clerk until his health necessitated an early retirement in 2012. His family was his number one priority, followed closely by his passion for youth baseball. He was most proud of his 2003 16U team called the MTC Bandits, where they competed in the 13th Annual Desert Fall Classic in Las Vegas against teams from Arizona, California, New York, Utah, Missouri, Arkansas and Nevada. The Bandits went undefeated and were crowned champs that year. Most of those players went on to play successfully at higher levels, including college and baseball's major league system. They stayed in close personal contact with Randy for several years until his death. Randy was predeceased by his mother; father; and stepdaughter, Cyndi. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; stepson, Jamie Ross; grandsons, Jimmy and Giovanni; brother, Richard (Stephanie); sister, Donna Gallagher (Ken); and many nephews and nieces. At his request, there will be no service.
