Rebecca Celano Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 4 to May 5, 2023.
Rebecca Marie Celano passed away on May 1, 2023 and now lives forever with her heavenly father. She was born on November 19, 1960 in Altus, Oklahoma, and spent most of her life in Georgia. Rebecca was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Rebecca - Becca - Becky - Becks were just a few of the names she went by, but "Nonna" was the greatest title she ever carried, and a role she cherished deeply.

Rebecca was proud of her Italian roots and loved to share her culture with those around her - especially by using her hands to talk! She had a warm and welcoming personality that made everyone she met feel like an instant friend. She made a positive impact on many people's lives, and her family finds comfort in knowing that she will be remembered fondly. She lived in wonder and awe of God's creation of nature and animals. When she was in nature, she was at peace.

Rebecca is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Levi Tuggle, her grandchildren Jackson and Jase Tuggle, and her siblings Joe Celano, Kim Celano, and Dean Celano. She was also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Al Celano and Marie Celano.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the coming weeks near a creek in the North Georgia mountains, where Rebecca would feel the utmost serenity and happiness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Alliance of Hope, a nonprofit organization that provides support to those who have lost loved ones to suicide. Donations can be made at https://allianceofhope.org/.

The family invites all those who knew and loved Rebecca to join them in sharing stories & photos to celebrate the mark she left here on Earth.

To the whole Celano family, my memories of Becky were from when we were all at St. Joseph's elementary school together. I am Kims age, and my sister Joy Cutcliff is Becky's age. I was in 3rd grade when we all became friends at school and church. Then through high school at Sprayberry in Marietta, GA. I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Kim, Joey, and Dean. Prayers for the family, children and grandchildren.

Kelli- I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Momma. She was a beautiful and kind soul. She gave me this purse, oh, about 10 years ago now. It was her mother´s. I would love for you to have it. If you can please get in touch with me. Karen Ditmars 617-513-4089

Kelli, I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with her at Essendant (I'm at the corporate office). Your mom and I were each other's support if either of us were having a bad day. It was always fun to chat and laugh about other things than work. I just found out today about your loss from Abner and I was devastated about the news. Your mother was a blessing sent from the heavens. I'll miss her deeply.

From childhood on, Becky was one of a kind. So many memories of her from, literally, a thousand or more hours spent hanging out at the Celano house

May she be in peace. Though we hadn´t seen each other in many years, she was loved like family to me. Same for all Celanos.

I am heartbroken to learn of Becca´s passing. I found out last night through Facebook, and I´m just so shocked. I loved Becca. We had so much in common, and we truly bonded over our love of animals and vegan food. I was at a friend´s house when I found out she was gone, and almost immediately after leaving, a little fox ran across the road in front of me and I decided that was Becca´s goodbye. I´ve never seen a wild fox in person before last night. She loved Mother Nature, and I feel like if she wanted to give me a sign she´d definitely use an adorable woodland creature. I miss her so much already. Kelli, you and your family are in my thoughts, and I´m so very sorry for the loss of such a compassionate, loving person.

Rebecca was a treasure and helped me greatly with love and compassion when I was at my lowest. She helped put me on the path to a new life that I will continue living in her honor.

Kelli, My heart breaks with this news.... I loved Rebecca so much! She was always the light in the room, the laughter in the air, and the first one to offer a huge hug to anyone, including me, who was in need. She will be missed on the Earth and I hope and pray that that she is now resting in eternal peace. The pictures below will always be how I remember her...

My early childhood is filled with memories of Becky and her daughter, Kelli. Almost every weekend it seemed was the 4 of us packed into the back of the Jeep to head to the mountains. (Our moms and their 2 kids) I didn´t know it at the time, but those were my first instances of mudding. I had a love hate relationship with the experience. You try telling a young kid that the wind whipping across their face is part of the experience!

Becky, bless her heart, took the time when I was a bit older to try and give me piano lessons. I was not the easiest student because I could not sit still and pay attention. I wanted to know how to play the piano but not learn. Now, I wish I had learned. Her music was simply beautiful.

Becky will always hold a special place in my heart. Laughter and love filled her to the brim. I will miss the kind hearted, sweet and silly Miss Becky.
