Robert Herman Vogel passed away peacefully on the morning of October 20, 2017 in his long time residence in Covina, California. He was 96. Robert was predeceased by his loving and dedicated wife of 75 years, Constance C. Vogel. He leaves behind two children Lynn Robert Vogel of Carlsbad, CA, Nancy Vogel Ramsey of Lake Arrowhead, CA and a granddaugher Christy Marie Moberg of Oceanside, CA. He also leaves behind his beloved brother, Dr. M. Dean Vogel and wife Mary of Santa Barbara, CA and beloved sister Ettna Honey Miller, of Marion Indiana, and cousins, nieces and nephews he dearly loved. Robert enjoyed researching his family tree, and meeting and getting to know his loving relatives in Germany. Born on an Indian reservation in South Dakota in 1921, Robert grew up in Marion Indiana. He attended Marion High School and was President of his Senior Class of 1940 and Captain of his Basketball team. He came to California to attend USC and play basketball, joined the Marine Corps and fought in WWII and the Korean War. He returned from war as a decorated Captain and graduated from USC. Robert worked for Douglas Aircraft where he met his love, Connie, and they were married in 1942 in Brentwood, CA. In 1955 they settled in Covina where they remained. He retired from McDonnell-Douglas. He is enterned in Santa Barbara with his loving wife Constance, together forever. He will be joining his predeceased brothers and sisters Lina Vogel, Gerald Vogel, Vera Vogel Clifford, Ralph Vogel, Leafton Chenneville, Roy Vogel, and his grandson, Dean Scott Ramsey.
