Tabitha Monqué Strickland, the youngest of four children, was born June 1, 1990 to Jimmie and Gwendolyn Strickland at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Smithfield, NC. On January 4, 2022, Tabitha departed this life at home in Raleigh NC. She was called from Labor to Reward. As the youngest, her earlier childhood years were filled with lots of pampering. Yes, she knew exactly how to charm her Parents, Brothers, Sister and many other family members. "The Apple off our Eye." There came a day she had to leave the nest and off to school it was. Her Primary and Elementary years were spent at Cooper Elementary School, Clayton, NC; middle school years at Ligon Middle School, Raleigh, NC and East Garner Middle School. She graduated from Garner High School in Garner, NC. Her love for children inspired her to take early childhood development courses at Wake Tech. Tabitha loved the work of being a Mother. She was a spectacular Mother and had a soft and loving heart. She cared for and spent lots of time with her five God-Children Tabitha joined Mount Vernon Christian Church, Clayton, NC at an early age. Tabitha is preceded in death by her Grandparents Willie & Essie Strickland and Theodore Hinton, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories: Her son Elijah JiShawn Strickland – Exum, who was her protector and her best friend; her Father Jimmie Strickland (Pat) of Clayton NC, her Mother Gwendolyn Carr and Stepfather George Carr, Garner, NC; two brothers Antonio Hinton and Jimmie Hinton (Marquetta), Clayton, NC; One sister, Elissa Hinton (Williams), Cary, NC; Grandmother Daisy Hinton of Clayton, NC; Five Aunts, Eight Uncles, Two Godmothers and a host of other relatives and Friends. She was truly a special person and will dominate the conversations in our family for many days to come. Until we meet again, those special memories of you will always bring a smile. If only we can have you back for just a little while, then we could sit and talk again, just like we used to do.. You always meant soo much and will. The fact that you are no longer here will always cause us pain, but you're forever in our hearts, until we meet again.
