Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 7, 2010.
Tanisha Nicole Wiggins was born on the 14th of August in the year of 1971 in the City of Newark, NJ to Sharon Epps and Horace Wiggins Jr. Tanisha was educated in the Irvington and Newark Public School system of New Jersey. After graduating from Irvington High School, Tanisha furthered her education with special training at the Orange School of Nursing. Contrariwise, she was happily employed as an Office Assistant by her grandfather, the late Horace Wiggins Sr. who was an Insurance Broker and owned the Wiggins Insurance Company of East Orange, NJ. Tanisha was an individual who desired to do better for herself as well as for others; as a result she embarked upon studies in Business at Essex County College and worked at the YMCA as a teacher's assistant. Tanisha was a sweet and jolly person who enjoyed living a quality life—spending her time with family, children, and friends. She was known for …"Hey" Among her favorite activities was bowling and dancing—especially out with Aunt Tracy and Shanty at Dark Shadows. However, unbeknown to many Tanisha was an advent writer who could put words to a poetic prose. Besides Tanisha's enjoyment of life was her style of life. Tanisha had an exquisite taste when it came down to her home and clothing. Her appearance for any significant event was nothing short of royalty and because of such her mother called her Cinderella. Tanisha was a lovely and committed mother who spent an exceptional amount of quality time with her two children. But her call of duty was beyond her household, Tanisha had a love for children and bringing them together. At one time, she had almost served an entire community with hot dogs and still could find time in her schedule to volunteer at the Ninja Karate School. After a grand community block festival in 2008 where a segment was proclaiming faith with a theme of "One Family Under God," Dr. Mercury T. Thomas discovered an angel faced young lady who began to let her light shine by participating in Karaoke singing. On Sunday the 14th of September 2008, Sis. Tanisha Wiggins and her two children led by her mother—Sis. Sharon Alexander ushered into the church of St. John's True Vision & Praise Int'l Ministries with a sense of purpose. After a year of faithful service in Church School and Weekday Services, Sis. Tanisha decided on Sunday the 18th of October 2009 to officially rededicate her life unto the LORD and join the fellowship of the church ministry. On Sunday the 7 the of February 2010, Tanisha ("Nisha") departed from this earthly life for a journey to her eternal home in Heaven. She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Dynesha; one son, Kyle; her mother, Sharon Alexander; her father, Horace Wiggins, Jr.; Step-father, Pop-Charles; brother, Horace Wiggins III; sister, Chalyn; Grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Epps, Mrs. Estelle Watts, Mr. Meredith Whitaker and the late Horace Wiggins Sr.; Great Aunts: Arnette (Auntie), Erma, and Jean; Aunts: Diane, Monica, Paula, Francine, Tracey; Great Uncles: Robert, Percell; Uncles: John, Theodore (Teddy), Glenn (who was at her bedside everyday) and Anderson "Eddie" Epps; her beloved friend Donald Williams and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and many loving friends.
