Terry Arnet Hutton

October 14, 1954 - October 10, 2024

Terry Arnet Hutton passed away on October 10, 2024, in Glendora, California, just days shy of his 70th birthday. Born on October 14, 1954, in Los Angeles County, California, Terry lived a life filled with love, curiosity, and dedication to those around him.

The son of Sidney and Lillian Hutton, Terry grew up with a deep appreciation for history and the world around him. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served his country with honor before being honorably discharged. Following his service, Terry pursued higher education at Mount San Antonio College, where he earned a Pharmacy Technician certification. His professional career included working as a procurement coordinator for McDonnell Douglas, where his meticulous nature and organizational skills shone brightly.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Terry was known for his insatiable curiosity about history. A natural-born historian with an encyclopedic knowledge of wars throughout the ages and across the globe, he could captivate anyone with his insights and passion for learning.

Terry's personal life was equally rich and fulfilling. He shared nearly five decades of marriage with his beloved wife Terrie-a union that began when they married 48 years ago. At that time, Terrie's youngest sister was just seven years old and her youngest brother only ten; Terry stepped into their lives as a guiding figure akin to a second father. His role as patriarch extended beyond immediate family to include nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who cherished his wisdom and gentle demeanor.

A man of many interests and talents, Terry found joy in gardening alongside Terrie and their cherished furkid Molly. Together they enjoyed long walks that brought them closer to nature and each other. He also delighted in collecting stamps and foreign currency-hobbies that reflected both his love for history and fascination with the wider world.

Traveling extensively with Terrie over the years further enriched Terry's life experiences. Wherever they went together-whether near or far-his kindheartedness left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to meet him along the way.

On November 1, 2024, family and friends gathered at White's Funeral Home in Azusa, California to celebrate Terry's remarkable life. The ceremony was officiated by Gary Zive (a first cousin), followed by heartfelt eulogies from loved ones who shared memories of the kindness and inspiration he brought into their lives.

Terry will be remembered as a kind-hearted gentleman whose diplomacy and compassion touched everyone he encountered. Though no longer physically present among us, his legacy endures through the countless lives he impacted during his journey on this earth.

May we honor Terry's memory by embracing the same spirit of love for learning, devotion to family, and quiet strength that defined him so beautifully throughout his life.

Honey, today, 10/10/25, marks 13 months since you went to heaven.
I miss you with all of my heart and soul. I am; however, grateful for the vivid dreams and signs from heaven that let me know that you are fine and that at a soul level we are connected for eternity. My memories span since 1978. (Photo taken at the Hebit.)

Honey, it is your loving wife,Terrie. It is Labor Day, 2025. I miss everything about you: your hugs, your kisses, your presence - well all of you! I suppose if you were not in heaven but with me, we might have gone out to eat which is why I posted a photo of many of our trademark toasts. Until we meet in heaven, my love. I will love you for eternity and then some. Love, Munchie P.S. We probably would have gone to The Habit or The Panda Express. Or, you would have made one of great meal creations like fettuccini with chicken and all of your secret ingredients. (Like the Outback's Toowamba Pasta but much better!) Thanks for the great memories over 48 years. In my heart and soul for eternity.
