Timothy Dust Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 16, 2006.
DUST -The death of Mr. Timothy "Tim " Henry Dust of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt, (and formerly of Bruno), occurred at his residence on Tuesday, March 14, 2006. He was 81 years of age. Tim, one of ten children, was born to Henry and Philomena (nee Brumleve) Dust on November 2, 1924, at home on their farm one mile north of Bruno. Following his formal education, he operated a mixed farm. Tim loved every aspect of that lifestyle. He was especially fond of animals, particularly horses, and was skilled at breaking them. Tim was known for his innate capability of successfully handling animals, and was often called on by local farmers to do veterinarian work. In 1974, after farming for a number of years, Tim started working at the Colonsay Potash Mine. Then, from 1976 to 1980, he was employed as a stockman for the U. of S. He then worked as an equipment operator in the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Saskatoon from 1981 until retiring in 1989. Tim had built a new house in Bruno in 1979, and commuted to work in Saskatoon from there. As farming had always been his greatest passion, he still maintained his interest in the farm and would quite often drive by it to check the crops. Tim's other passion was his cars. He took great pride in every vehicle he owned, and meticulously kept them spotless and in perfect working order. In his leisure time, Tim enjoyed playing cards. More than anything, he always looked forward to family gatherings. Tim will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his sister, Clara Jacobson of Bruno; sister-in-law, Clara Dust of Humboldt; and by his numerous nieces and nephews, who were very special to him. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Philomina (nee Brumleve) Dust; seven brothers and one sister: Alex Dust, Arthur (Elizabeth) Dust, Charles (Mary) Dust, Esther (Ben) Nett, Tony Dust, Norbert Dust (at the age of 9); and Ralph and Leo Dust (both in infancy); and by brother-in-law, Roy Jacobson. The Prayer Service for Tim will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2006, at 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, March 17, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Joseph Ackerman, OSB. Both services will be held at St. Bruno R.C. Church, Bruno. Interment will follow at St. Bruno R.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Prairie View at Bruno. SCHULERLEFEBVRE, Humboldt. Sorry to hear about Tim. We visited with him in The Villa when we visited with our Mother. He was such a nice man. We remember him from our childhood while spending a school year in Bruno. Clara used to bring us her famous syrup cookies. Our deepest sympathy to all the family.
