We are deeply saddened to announce our beautiful mother's unexpected death. Veronica Rosa Barrera Acevedo passed away as the sun rose on December 18, 2017. A funeral service will be held at Westgate Alliance Church, 3315 Centennial Dr. on Friday, December 22 at 1 p.m. Please join us as we bid farewell. Condolences may be left at www.westwoodfuneralchapel.com Arrangements entrusted to Westwood Funeral and Cremation Services 306-653-3434.

I just recently heard about Veronica :'( I had not known why I hadn't seen her at Safeway for months.
She was a lovely, generous & kind woman who will be missed & remembered fondly by many.

Our deepest sympathy to Veronica's family, and loved ones. We were so sad to hear of Veronica's passing today as my husband went to pick up flowers from our favorite florist. She was also our kids bus driver. Veronica was a special lady and will be missed by many. With sympathy and prayers

A true friend and a amazing woman, one who we knew as Abuelita. A caring lady who made time for everyone, who made everyone smile even if it was with her graceful crooked walk and beaming smile! A lady of many talents, many which she shared and taught me to love. One who had a faith strong enough to keep her going through anything. So proud of her children no matter near or far, she was so willing to share her grandchildren via her IPad of course photo after photo. Cristina, Marcia and Alex I am so thankful for knowing your mom and for having in our life. Know that she was loved so very much feel that love today, tomorrow and as you remember the great mother, grandmother and friend that she was!

When I remember Veronica I think of her
laughter, jokes, and her talented flower arranging skills. I was lucky enough to work with her at Confederation Safeway Floral Deptarment.
She was so proud of all of her children and happy to relay story's of their adventures!
You will be missed by many.

ALWAYS REMEMBERED BY WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
One of my Dearest FRIEND that will be so sadly missed. Veronica was a loving, kind soul that helped whoever she could. She was strong in her spirituality. That is what drew us very close. She was so proud and always talked about her 3 precious children. And was always so excited about her grandchildren. Veronica loved humor....oh how we had good laughs,always trying to outdo who was funnier. We enjoyed when we worked on the same shift...even trying to find humor at work. WOW when Veronica did her flower arrangements they were vibrant and stunning just like herself. I could always pick out her arrangements. I WILL MISS HER SO MUCH. But she will be in my heart and prayers as well as for her family in this time of sorrow. And will keep the memories alive.
