William 'Bill' Simpson, 90, of Gurnee died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 4, 2015. He was born on February 10, 1925 in Thompsonville, IL. A WWII veteran, he served overseas in the U.S. Army from 1943-45. In 1950, he came to Lake County, where he worked at various garages and dealerships as an auto mechanic. In 1961, he joined Ammco Tools as training manager, later becoming a district then regional sales manager. From 1982 until his retirement, he owned and operated Simpson Auto Parts and Machine Shop in Grayslake. Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Faye Simpson; two daughters, Carolyn Anderson of Freeburg, IL, and Gwen (John) Bruno of Gurnee; and two sons, Kent (Suzanne) Simpson of Grayslake, and Brian (Beverley) Simpson of Los Angeles. He also leaves 8 grandchildren as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Jack Simpson of Crossville, TN and granddaughter Lyn Pierce of Freeburg. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 10 am to 12 noon at Gurnee Salata Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee IL with burial at Millburn Cemetery in Millburn IL.

My deepest sympathy to his immediately and extended family. I am so sorry I couldn't make it to the service. I did attend Jack's service but it was in TN. Bill's cousin Miriam
