WAPAKONETA - Julian R. Tarini, 86, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 5:49 p.m., Monday, June 10, 2024, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's.
He was born on October 5, 1937, in Toledo, to Dominico and Emma (White) Tarini, who have preceded him in death. On March 7, 1959, he married Patricia A. Griesinger, who passed away on December 16, 2019.
Survivors include the five children, Connie (Norman) Yager, Debi (Mike) Hoy, Robert (Aida) Tarini, Crystal Limbert, and Susan Baumer; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Williams; and three nephews, along with their spouses and children.
Julian was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Jasmine, and brother-in-law, Ivan Williams.
For many years, Julian worked at Chrysler, Perrysburg, until it closed, and he transferred to the Lima Tank Plant. Julian retired from the Tank Plant and then began working at the Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution, Lima, where he was "Pops" to the inmates. Following retirement from Oakwood, Julian worked security at Goodyear, St. Marys. In his free time, Julian could be found watching tv, especially if a court show was on, Judge Judy was his favorite. He loved the companionship of Oreo, the dog and enjoyed biscuits & gravy, regardless of the time of day. Julian will be remembered for his love of family, especially the grandkids, who always made him smile.
In keeping with Julian's wishes, he will be cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life and Time of Remembrance from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the home of Crystal Limbert (613 Ellen Street, Wapakoneta, Ohio). Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital via www.stjude.org/donate, as it was close to Julian's heart. The family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services to handle the arrangements.

What an awesome man to have worked with! Working at a prison is a tough job usually made easier depending on who you work with and Julian was one of the best! Condolences to family and friends.
