CELINA — Lois Kathryn Fox "Grandma Fox", age 97, of Celina, went to be with her Lord and Savior with family at her side at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at The Gardens at Celina. She was born December 1, 1920, in Rockford, to the late Carl H. & Blanche (Shaffer) Bennett. Lois married William Paul Fox on December 27, 1939, and he preceded her in death October 31, 1998.
She is survived by their 4 children: Rev. Larry Fox of Wapakoneta, Rita (Robert) Kimmel of Celina, Paula Pennington of Grand Rapids, MI and Kathy (Richard) Phillips of Celina; and 2 brothers: Max Bennett of Ohio City and Theo (Marlene) Bennett of Kettering. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren: Susan (Bill) Walter, Jayma (Dan) Dodds, Stephen (Darci) Fox, Dawn (Larry) Trame, Bret Kimmel, Lisa (Vincent) Zylvitis, Rachel (Edward) Perdue, Kara (Michael) Lovitt and David (Rachel) Phillips; and 22 great grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by sisters: Mary (Wayne) Snyder and Donna (Clarence) Trisel, baby brother Keith Bennett, brother Lloyd Bennett, daughter-in-law Sue Fox, sister-in-law Dorothy Bennett, and two great grandsons.
She worked for a number of years in the office at the Stokely Van Camp canning plants in Celina and Curtice, Ohio.
Lois was a member of the Celina First Church of the Nazarene. A long-time Sunday School Teacher, everyone there knew her as "Grandma Fox". She was involved in preparing food for the church funeral luncheons for many years, and was noted for her scalloped potatoes.
Lois loved to cook and she took pleasure in watching her family enjoy what she had prepared for them. She loved remembering family and friends on their special occasions with messages and greeting cards. She loved her great grandchildren and enjoyed hearing about their lives, activities, and school days.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, at Celina First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Chris Riffle officiating. Burial will be at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
Calling Hours are 4:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, and an hour prior to time of services on Wednesday, at the church.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Celina First Church of the Nazarene.
