LIMA — Maxine Sutton, age 86, passed away at 7:01 am Friday, April 9, 2021, at her home. She is now walking the streets of gold.
Maxine was born April 3, 1935 in Bell Co., KY, to the late Caleb and Effie (Lee) Crawford. On November 5, 1955 she married Daniel Lee "Dan" Sutton.
Maxine graduated from Henderson Settlement High School in Kentucky where she was an honor student and enjoyed competing in tennis and track. She finished first in many races. Maxine was a homemaker and dearly loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maxine's life was her family, a gracious and kind person, Maxine always put others first.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 1/2 years, Daniel Lee "Dan" Sutton of Lima; four children, Pamela Sutton, Douglas (Donna) Sutton, Gregory (Tanya) Sutton and David 'Buck' (Kristin) Sutton all of Lima; Eleven grandchildren, Adam (Heather) Sutton, Matthew (Amanda) Sutton, Lauren Sutton, Hayley (Steve) Thomas, Evan (Kalie) Sutton, Kyle Sutton, Cory Sutton, Tyler (Audrey) Sutton, Austin (Gabrielle) Sutton, Amanda (Seth) Ciminillo and Kaitlyn Sutton; sixteen great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Crawford, Lula Crawford, Mary Crawford and two brothers-in-law, Robert "Bob" Ziegler and Gary Money.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Megan Sutton; four brothers, Hollis Crawford, John Crawford, Jerry Crawford, Fitzhugh Crawford and two sisters, Doris Ziegler and Karen Money.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Putnam County Hospice and Lima Memorial Hospital for taking such excellent care of Maxine.
Funeral services celebrating Maxine's life will begin at 11:00 am Saturday, April 17, 2021, at CHILES -LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor's Terry Brock and Buck Sutton will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 am Saturday, April 17, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Living Hope Church or Teens for Christ, 2701 Allentown Road, Lima, Ohio 45805. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
