FRANK ROSS Obituary

Frank J. Ross, Sr. of New City, NY and Key Largo, FL died at home in New City on March 11, 2000. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 15, 1920 to Patrick and Catherine (nee Casey) Ross. Frank was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater with the 9th Air Force. He retired from the NYPD as a Sgt. in September, 1980, after serving 32 years. He was a life member of the NYCPD Honor Legion, a life member of the Sgts. Benevolent Assoc., the Rockland County Shields, American Legion Post 329 in Pearl River and the 9th Air Force Assoc. He is survived by his wife of more than 49 years, Claire (nee McFaul). He is also survived by 9 children, Claire Chiandusse, husband Russell, Frank J. Jr., wife, Susan, Joseph, wife, Heather, Kevin, Daniel, wife, Lisa, Anthony, wife, Lisa, Charles, Michele Heim, husband, John, Jerralyn Wendolowski, husband, Gerard and grandchildren, Brian and Jillane Chiandusse, Patrick and Kyle Ross, Jenna and Daniel Heim, Sean Ross, Sydney Ross and Jessica Wendolowski. Frank is also survived by a brother, Thomas and sisters, Catherine and Angela. Frank was an avid flyer and a great storyteller. He beguiled everyone with his quick wit and captivating smile. He was loved by all who met hime. Frank will never be forgotten and will surely be missed forever. The family will receive friends on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Higgins Funeral Home in New City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am saint Augustine's Church in New City. Interment will follow at Saint Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet.
