Clinton was a very dear cousin and doctor to me. His Eulogy was titled, "Loving Heart and Gentle Hands", written by my sister, Kathy Bates. How very true that is! Clinton's dad, my great uncle, delivered me as a baby. He was my doctor until his passing. Then Clinton became my doctor. Many asked, "How can you go to your cousin as your doctor?" I said, "Because he is the Best!" I will truly miss Clinton and his smile. Whenever I went to Clinton's office he would always show me around and let everyone know that I was his cousin. He loved his family. He always spoke of Clint, Chris, and how he had the sweetest and prettiest mother in the world. Clinton did have a Loving Heart. Clinton was very well known and highly thought of in Louisville. Many in our congregation went to Clinton and speak highly of him. Clinton had Gentle Hands. Clinton (maybe unaware) was an instrument of God. I'm sure many families asked to have prayer before surgeries. Clinton could open an incision, stitch it up, but could not heal the wound. The rest was up to God. I'm sure Clinton was amazed how the healing process went. As Clinton has left us here there is a wound within our hearts that only God can heal. May we cherish the memories we have of Clinton and may Gods "Loving Heart and Gentle Hands" comfort us in this time of great loss. Clinton was loved and will truly be missed! Thank you Clint and Chris for sharing your dad with so many! Thank you Aunt Ethel for having such a wonderful son! God Bless!

Dr. Clinton C. Cook, III. I felt a need to add this truly cute story of Clinton and myself painting his Mother and Dad's pool.
As we were painting Clinton had been painting the deep end of the pool and he forgot to paint around the drain area. He said "No Problem, I will be able to get back down there to paint it", about that time I was trying to help him with my paint pole but he slipped and slide all the way down to the drain. We both laughed and laughed. I like to never got him out of the deep end that was slick with paint. That was just one of the wonderful memories I have of my wonderful cousin whom I loved so much.
May God Bless you all.

Over the last four years, I have heard several stories from my papaw about how great a man Dr. Cook II was. I have also been told from several women in my family how great Dr. Cook III was. I feel very priveleged that I had many Sunday dinners that Dr. Cook III made for Chris and I. While I never had the privelege of knowing Dr. Cook II, I will miss DR. Cook III. Dr. Cook III was a very warm, generous, kind, and welcoming man. He made you feel comfortable and had a great sense of humor as well as a wonderful smile that lives on in Chris. I see a lot of Dr. Cook in Chris and he did a wonderful job raising a great son. Dr. Cook was a very special man and I will miss him dearly. My family and I wish to extend our most sincerest condolences to the Cook family. Dr. Cook will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We love you!

Everyday I sit down and read all of the memories and condolences. It has helped me get through the most difficult time of my life. I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to write in. As you all know my father was and allways will be a very special person. Not only was he a great doctor but a great father and best friend. He taught me how to hunt, fish, bet horses, grow a garden, drive his 1963 Corvette and how to be a hard worker. There will never be a day in my life without thinking about my dad. He will allways have a place in my heart. I wish I could share all of my memories but the Guest Book would then be as thick as a high school math book. Once again thank you all for everything that you have done in helping me get through this difficult time.

Clint and I spent the last four and a half months of his life together sharing time and our love for one another. We felt an instant connection to each other right from the start. He was so thoughtful and considerate with a great big heart of gold. He always had the following day planned the night before so we could make the most of our time. I loved that about him. He loved to cook and was so pleased that I always liked to try his special dishes. We spent many hours sitting at the dock listening to our favorite music -sometimes just sitting and watching the river run by. Many times we laughed until we cried over the simplest things. He told me it had been a long time since he had laughed like this. We were always content with one anothers company whatever we chose to do. He was an awesome teacher, spending many hours teaching me all about fishing: how to fish, where to find the fish and even how to clean them. Even though our time together was cut short I am so thankful for the time that we did have. He gave my world a whole new meaning! I told him often that God made him special. We had lots of plans for our future together. I miss him so and will never stop loving him. He made me smile.
-Your special friend, Vickie

Dr. Cook,
I will miss Clinton. When I was a teenager he found a lump on my breast and I remember being so scared. He really kept me calm through the whole process. He was a very kind heart and I will miss him so much. I had a little baby boy at the same time that Clinton left this world. I feel for Aunt Ethel loosing a son. I can only imagine how empty her heart must be. My love and sympathy goes out to my Great Aunt Ethel.
Love and Kindness,

Dr. Clinton C. Cook, III.
What a wonderful Doctor, What a wonderful Cousin. I will truly miss my time I had with Clinton, our talks, laughs and remembering when I was a little girl and had a studdering problem. I was trying to sing on Top of Ol' Smokey, and just couldn't get the words out, Clinton was playing the organ and looked down at me and said, Stop that!! I never studdered again!!! He was a medical student at the time. Clinton and I laughed about this all the time we talked to each other. I will never forget that as long as I live!!! I will really miss him and know others will as well. This world will have a less shining face without Clinton here.
Love to Aunt Ethel Cook my dear and loving Aunt. I will always be there for you Aunt Ethel.
Love Always,
David and Kathy Bates

To the family of Dr. Cook:
I was so saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Clinton Cook. As a patient of Dr. Cook's since 1993, I was blessed to have found this competent and caring physician. I shall always remember his gracious manner, his smiling face and his devotion to the patients.

I was a longtime patient of Dr. Cook's and celebrated 18 years cancer-free last month...to Dr. Cook's credit. He was a compassionate care-giver. I am eternally grateful to him for his knowledge AND his kindness. I also always loved hearing about his fishing trips, and was so glad that he lived into the dream of Arkansas...my thanks to his family for sharing him with so many...and may your memories comfort you at this time of loss.

I would like to express my sympathy to Dr. Cook's family. Over the years I was a patient of Dr. Cook's father and Dr. Cook III. What an example of caring doctors they were. When Dr. Cook moved to Arkansas, we were happy for him, but sad for the Louisiville area. His continued contribution to the medical field will be missed by everyone. I feel very blessed to have known him.

When our high school class met for our 50th reunion last weekend, we looked forward to Clinton being with us. Finding that he was ill put a damper on our remembrances of the many good times we all had. Returning home to the announcement of Clinton's death was a sad moment, but also a time to reacquaint ourselves with the memory of a smiling face and a good life well-lived. He is remembered as a friend to all as we grew from children to young men and women and then adults. I share with our classmates in our sincere condolences to the family of a great friend.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Dr. Cook. If it had not been for his expertise in his field, I would not be here to type this message. He saved my life in Sept. 1993 and for that I am eternally grateful. I was blessed to have been able to go to Mountain Home to continue as his patient. He became a dear friend as well as my doctor and I owe him my life.
You will be missed greatly Dr Cook!

I was one of the luckiest patients of Dr. Cook. He saved my life. I will never forget the amazing surgical skills he had. All of us who were patients were friends as well. He always had time to talk and made you feel like you were the most special person. We were so sad when he left for Arkansas; but his love of fishing and hunting called him there. All of us here will remember the wonderful, caring, and talented physician that he was.

To Dr. Cook's Family:
For many years I was a patient of this dear man who performed major surgery on me and was so comforting at the same time. I had asked Dr. Marion Beard for the name of a good doctor and he said, "I will give you the best - in fact we think of him as a doctor's doctor." He was kind, thorough and caring and when he left Louisville, on my annual visit, he took the time to talk to me and tell me of his decision to leave his 'home town' -- I'm so glad to have had him for my doctor and to have known him.
My kindest thoughts to his family and I will remember Dr. Cook in prayer.
