Dear Shirley. Please accept our warmest condolences, we are very sorry for your loss.
We might have been separated for a very long time but Bob has had a great impact in our lives since he opened the door to us for an academic career and a new life in USA.
The seven years we lived and worked with him in Louisville have been a memorable experience which greatly impacted our lives. Very grateful...

On behalf of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, the Order offers its deepest condolences and is proud of a life well lived by Colonel Mendel. I had the opportunity to escort Bob and Shirley on the Bluegrass Honor Flight in 2018. They were a delight. It was a gift to me to escort two Veterans.
