Edward Maybury Obituary
Chelmsford
Edward A. Maybury, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 21, 2021 in Melbourne, FL. Born to James Francis Maybury, Sr. and Harriet Katherine (Smith) Maybury on 6 October 1939 in Springfield, MA, Ed Maybury graduated from Technical High School in Springfield, MA in 1957 and married the love of his life, Stella in 1962. A graduate of University of Massachusetts Amherst, Northeastern University, honorable service as an Army officer was followed by leadership roles at MITRE, Raytheon, TMI, Data Architects Systems, Creative Systems and Logica Data Architects. A founding member of the Board of Directors at Pegasystems, he retired to Sagamore Beach in Cape Cod to pursue his music passions in many bands. President of the North Sandwich Community Association and a Member of the League of Women Voters of the Space Coast, Ed found joy boating with family from the Danversport Yacht Club to cruising the Caribbean with Stella. Ed was a religiously committed Catholic at St John The Evangelist in Chelmsford, MA and Corpus Christi in Sandwich, Cape Cod.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Stella Doris Karol, son Dr. Edward and Lisa Maybury, Jr of Melbourne FL, son Dr. Mark and Michelle Maybury of Chelmsford, MA, daughter Dr. Karol Maybury and Eric McIntosh of Farmington, Maine, nine grandchildren (Edward Kevin, Shaylyn, Christopher, Zachary, Maximilian, Julia, Samuel, Grace and Ethan), granddaughter in laws Alyssa Zenitz Maybury and Rebecca Krupkoski Maybury and great granddaughter Acadia. He was predeceased earlier this year by his brother Dr. James Francis Maybury, Jr.
Ed will be interned in Chelmsford with a memorial mass at Corpus Christi in East Sandwich 21 June at 11am. In honor of his commitment to public education, donations can be made to the Edward A. Maybury, Sr. Scholarship Fund c/o Chelmsford High School Alumni Association Endowment Fund, 200 Richardson Road, North Chelmsford, MA 01863.
