David Roger Stapleton Sr. -LUMBER CITY - Funeral services for Mr. David Roger Stapleton Sr., 71, who died Monday, March 6, at his residence, will be March 8, 2006, at 3P.M. in the Fishing Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Eddis Kirkland, Rev. Barry Owens, and Rev. Dewitt Corbin will officiate the interment held in the Palms Memorial Gardens. -Mr. Stapleton was a native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, and was the son of the late, William Marcus and Jewel Thompson Stapleton. He was a retired, self-employed farmer, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Fishing Creek Baptist Church. -Survivors include wife, Ruby D. Stapleton of Lumber City; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Dr. David Stapleton (Saralyn), of Hazlehurst, and Dr. Tim Stapleton (Judy) of Macon; two daughters, Rachelle Stapleton of Vidalia, and Misti Stapleton of Memphis, TN.; brother, Harold Stapleton of Lumber City; sister, Coris S. McCall of Jesup; four grandchildren, Beth and Chris Davis of Blackshear, Candice Stapleton of Athens, Ryan Stapleton, and Kyle Stapleton both of Macon; also several nieces and nephews. -Visitation will be Tuesday evening, from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Wainright Parlor Funeral Home. -The family may be contacted at the residence of Rt. 1, Box 105 on Fishing Creek Rd., in Lumber City; and at David and Saralyn Stapleton's resident, 41 E. Plum St., in Hazlehurst. -Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
