Hortensia Rangel Obituary

Hortensia Rangel (nee Gonzales)
October 24, 1930-June 18, 2021
Resident of San Jose
It with heavy hearts that we announce that our Mom, Hortencia Rangel (née Gonzales) passed away on June 18, 2021 in Riverside, CA, with her daughter Donna at her side.
Hortensia was born on October 24, 1930 to Ramon and Margarita Gonzales in Santa Barbara, CA., where she lived until her family moved to San Jose. It was there where she met her future husband, Henry Rangel, whom she married on October 18th, 1951.
Hortensia loved her family, enjoyed trips to casinos with her sister Barbara, and proved to be one of the strongest woman anyone could have ever known. Her home was a sanctuary for her children, and grandchildren, and the door was always open to friends.
She is survived by two brothers, Arthur Gonzales (Irene) and Raymond Gonzales, her children, Margaret Wells (Dave), Henry Rangel, Rebecca Padgett (Gary), Donna Rangel-Cruz (Adolfo), her grandchildren, Heather Rangel-Pybas (Matt), Jessica Padgett, Rachel Castro, Jessica Castro, Matthew Cruz, and Gabrielle Cruz, and one great grandson, Jaxson Henry Pybas.
As per Hortensia's wishes, she has been cremated. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:15 am on August 3, 2021, at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery Chapel, 490 Lincoln St. Santa Clara, CA 95050, with private interment immediately following.
