Gerald McBee Obituary
The son of Roy and Thelma Louise (Parker) McBee, he was born Oct. 12, 1945, in Tazewell, Tenn.
Jerry attended Monroe High School and was a lifelong member of the Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) from 1968-present where he served as business agent and secretary treasurer over the years. Jerry enjoyed gardening and reading books about history or watching the History Channel. There wasn't a question you could ask him about World War II that he didn't know the answer. He also loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren telling stories and taking them on treasure hunts.
He is survived by 7 loving children to cherish his memory: Gerald McBee, Shanna McBee, Jeremy (Heidi) McBee, Janee (Michael) Owens, Catlin McBee, Ryan Rice, Dakota McBee; nine grandchildren, Elijah, Sabrina, Blaze, Brooklynn, Olivia, Braxx, Michael, Briella and Ellie; and four siblings, Bill (Linda) McBee, Joanne Crutchfield, Doug (Grace) McBee and Lavenda (Ernie) Rosales. Also surviving are former spouses Peggy Degnan and Alice Rice.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by the "love of his life" and former spouse Marjorie Hess.
In accordance with Jerry's wishes, the family is being assisted with cremation arrangements by The Cremation Society of Toledo, and a private "celebration of life" will take place.
The family would like to thank ProMedica Hospice and a special thank you to nurse Rick P for his help and support. Memorial contributions can be made to ProMedica Hospice.
