Aaron Winemiller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeBaun Funeral Homes & Crematory - Springhill Chapel on Dec. 31, 2024.
Aaron "Dub" Michael Winemiller passed away at home on December 19, 2024 due to complications from vasovagal syncope. Aaron was born to Michael Winemiller and Ginger Giordano on May 8, 1982 in Terre Haute. Aaron had one sibling, his older sister Shannon Winemiller. Aaron attended Terre Haute South high school followed by Indiana State University, where he earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Creative Writing.
Aaron worked at various retail locations during his life, including Raven Crest, where he developed a number of life-long friendships and enjoyed numerous trading card games. Aaron and several others in the Terre Haute community were especially well known for the Dragonball Z trading card game and were highly ranked in global standings. Aaron delighted in playing many board and role playing games such as Dungeon Crawl Classics, Pathfinder, Kingdom Death, Too Many Bones, and so many more. Aaron bowled avidly in his early life, and spent many hours at the various bowling centers in Terre Haute. Aaron passionately played numerous video games, especially those that had a strong multiplayer or community aspect. Aaron was a die hard Chicago Blackhawks fan, and went to NHL and Indy Fuel games as often as he could.
Aaron's life was defined by friendship. He worked continuously to host game nights in his home and to bring his many friends together regularly. As the lives of his friends took them to other places, Aaron continued to stay in contact, most often by playing various online games, even buying the necessary hardware to host servers for some online games. Although Aaron had hoped to write and publish a book at some point, his true life work was maintaining his social circle, ensuring that his friends gathered regularly for games, laughter, and fellowship.
Aaron is survived by his mother, Ginger Giordano, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. Aaron was preceded in death by his father, Michael Winemiller, and his sister, Shannon Winemiller.
A celebration of life will be held on January 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Terre Haute Bowling Center located at 600 E Springhill Dr. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Riley Children's Hospital.
