Andrzej Fidyk, 73, of New Britain, passed away on Monday, July 11th 2022. Born in Poland, he moved to the United States 36 years ago. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who worked for GKN Powder Metals for many years until his retirement. A "jack of all trades" Andrzej was a welder by profession but was talented in carpentry and was a well accomplished all around handyman. He delighted in be able to use his talents to help out friends, family or anyone that he could. As a younger man he was an avid swimmer and diver and enjoyed the water throughout his years. His true passion was music. He played the guitar and piano and enjoyed bringing music into people's lives. In his youth he was in a band in Poland and he truly loved to entertain. A devout catholic and parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain, Andrzej was a caring and generous man and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He leaves his significant other Grazyna Wysocka of New Britain; his daughter Dorota Ozarek and her husband Tomasz of Brooklyn, NY; his son Krzysztof Fidyk and his wife Anna of Berlin and his grandchildren Patryk, Klaudia and Julia. He also leaves a brother Zbigniew Fidyk and his wife Stella of MA and his sister Vanessa Wade and her husband Dieder Gelin of Belgium and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 16 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St. in New Britain. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart cemetery immediately following the Mass. To share a memory with his family, please visit us at www.duksa.net
