It is with heavy hearts that we share that Ann (Hartmann) Weeks passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, in Spartanburg, SC.

Ann was born on June 22, 1941 to Catherine and James Hartmann in Alton. Ann grew up and attended school in the Godfrey/Alton, IL area through college where she selected English as her major. Ann married (George) Dan Weeks on June 11, 1994 and they enjoyed almost 27 years together. Dan was her high school sweetheart, and they were so happy to be reunited later in life. They enjoyed so many wonderful memories together and shared mutual interests, including the search for the perfect vintage or antique item, watching the Cubs and the Bears, going out to eat, and spending time together and with family. Dan preceded her in death on May 6, 2021.

Ann was a devoted mother to her five children and made holidays and birthdays so very special. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her joy; she was so proud of all of them and always had a story to share about them. She loved her life as Grandma and Gigi.

Ann was chic, beautiful and looked far younger than she was! She had an incredible sense of style and passed that on to her daughters and granddaughters. Her sense of style extended beyond fashion; she was a talented decorator. Despite the fact that she worked until age 70, she also carefully nurtured the most beautiful flowers in her garden and took special care of the birds who visited her yard. While working for the State of Illinois, Ann earned an award as Employee of the Year, acknowledging her contributions and work ethic. Ann was raised Catholic and prayed every night for her loved ones, friends, coworkers and anyone in need.

Ann is survived by her children, Emlyn Thomas, Julie Moore, Cara Slattery and Lisa (Christopher) Giaimo. She is also survived by her beloved grandkids: Emily (Nick) Knight, Madison Slattery, Jacob Slattery, Thomas Giaimo, Evan Giaimo, Nicholas Giaimo, Ava Thomas, and her great-grandchildren Adaline, Campbell and Harrison Knight, and baby Slattery (due Feb. 2026). Also surviving are sisters Rosie (Gary) Scheib, Gloria (Kent) Hake and sister-in-law, Sheri Hartmann, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to the love of her life, Dan, Ann was preceded in death by her parents, son, Eric Evan Thomas, sisters, Elvina Miller and Mary Swofford, brother, Jimmy Hartmann, brother-in-law, Jerry Bechtold, best friend, Cookie Chapman and great grandson, Jameson Knight.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made in memory of Ann to Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Hospice Home in appreciation of their kindness and exceptional care for patients. We will miss you every day, Mom, and we will see you again.
