Anthony Abdullah, affectionately known as "Chuck," was born on April 14, 1966, to the late Kareem Abdullah of Folkston, GA, and Clarissa Little of Winston-Salem, NC. He was raised by his beloved mother, Agnes Abdullah, of Kingsland, GA. Chuck earned his nickname from his childhood friend, Charles Dasher, and it stuck with him throughout his life, being used by friends and family alike.
Chuck was educated in the public school system of Charlton County and received his GED in 1986. Known for his strong work ethic, he worked for several companies, including Stevenson Enterprise and BHA in Folkston, GA, and Kaman Enterprises in Jacksonville, FL. He ultimately spent his last years as a shift leader at IEM Power Systems in Jacksonville, FL, where he was well-loved and respected by all his coworkers.
Chuck enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including fishing and cooking, but his greatest joy was spending time with his friends and family. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, never missing a game and always eager to discuss his team's latest performance.
Chuck passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kareem Abdullah and Clarissa Little; his grandparents, Janie and Matthew Holbrook of North Carolina; his aunt, Lula Mitchell of Kingsland, GA; and his grandmother, Ethel Mae Boyd of Folkston, GA.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 31 years, Annie Mae Abdullah of Folkston, GA; his mother, Agnes Abdullah of Kingsland, GA; his daughters, Monique Green and Nijah Abdullah, both of Folkston, GA, Terrica (Darius) Anderson of Jacksonville, FL, Camille (Gary) McGowan, Danita Dasher, and Azarie Dasher of St. Mary's, GA; and like a daughter, Brittany Cobb of Hinesville, GA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Chuck leaves behind his six brothers: Elijah (Johnella) Abdullah of Jacksonville, FL, Muhammad (Angela) Abdullah of Macon, GA, Shawn Abdullah of Folkston, GA, James (Tiffany) Reid and John (Kim) Reid of North Carolina, and Kareem "Jeremiah" Abdullah of Australia; his seven sisters: Janie (Otis) Roberts and Desiree (Marvin) Carter, both of St. Mary's, GA, Sharon Sibley (Emanuel) of Kingsland, GA, Karen Flowers (Anthony) of Hinesville, GA, Charlotte Abdullah of Jacksonville, FL, Medina Abdullah (Starling) of Woodbine, GA, and Tonya (Lincoln) Kern of Folkston, GA. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Chuck is further survived by his six aunts: Joyce (Sylvester) Harvey of Folkston, GA, Charlena Edwards, Verna Holbrook, Gloria Allen, Zola Holbrook, and Tina Holbrook, all of North Carolina; and his uncle, Ronald Austin of Folkston, GA.
Chuck will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of hard work, love for his family, and passion for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 @ 3:00 pm at Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 416 Dixie Lake Rd., Folkston, Ga. 31537
