Charlene Layton Obituary
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Drewery Loggins will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Monday, February 3, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Born on December 23, 1934 in Murphy, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Wagg Cordell and the late Vaul Hood Cordell. She was retired from Dittler Brothers where she worked in printing. Mrs. Layton was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Layton was preceded in death by her husband, Hoy Layton and daughter, Lisa Layton.
Mrs. Layton is survived by her son, Russell Layton of Gainesville; granddaughter and husband, D.D. Davis and J.D.; great granddaughter, Harper Davis; great grandsons, Brantley Davis, Kash Davis; care giver, Ashely Arrowood; special friend, Amanda Ortiz and caregiver, Velvet Clark.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Rd., Gainesville, Ga. 30504 is in charge of the arrangements.
