Christopher “Chris” Lanier Drummer
June 7, 1971 – December 11, 2024
Christopher “Chris” Lanier Drummer, 53, of Switzer, West Virginia, passed away on December 11, 2024. Born on June 7, 1971, in Holden, West Virginia, Chris was a beloved son, life partner, father, sibling, uncle, and friend. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father Ernest “Bobby” Eugene Drummer, Grandparents Shelby and Catherine Collins, Walter and Mossie Drummer and uncles Shelby Collins, Jeffery Collins, and Forest “TC” Trammel.
Chris is survived by his mother, Sandra Drummer; the love of his life, Ginger Starghill; his children, Alyson Kenedi, Ciara Pinckney, Tj and Khiry Starghill, Jayden Drummer; and his siblings, Ernest Eugene Drummer, Catherine Turner, Sandra Drummer, and Natalie Drummer. He is also survived by nieces Kiara (Phillip) Jenkins, Kristiana Drummer, Kiana Minter, Jayona Minter, and Ivy Drummer, and nephews Tommy Turner, Jamal Minter, and Kyrell Minter. Aunts Marguerite Trammell and Yuon (Yu) Collins. Additionally, Chris is remembered by a host of cousins, as well as his special friends Ronald Gaiter, John Paul “Dude” DeJarnette, Timothy Day, and many others.
A man who valued the simple joys of life, Chris was passionate about spending time with his family and friends, often seen bonding over shared moments. He was a true supporter and fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and loved watching their games with those closest to him. Whether driving around or checking in on loved ones, Chris found comfort in staying connected with everyone around him.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church, located at 13 Genesis Lane, Cora, WV 25601, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 pm.
Chris’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, laughter, and love will never be forgotten.
