Christopher Ryan Hamm

Christopher "Hammy" Hamm, 41, born in Vancouver, WA on May 8, 1982 and died on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
While attending Mount Joy High School in Pennsylvania, Chris also attended LCCTC/Mount Joy, PA where he received a culinary arts/chef certification in 2000. He also attended Johnson & Wales in Norfolk, VA and received a culinary arts degree in 2002.
Chris worked in the restaurant industry for 22 years where he cultivated many life-long friendships. He spent 12 years working in Seattle at Tom Douglas & Company - Etta's, Seatown & Rub Shack, Cuoco and Dahlia Lounge. He then moved to New Orleans and worked for 5 years at Coquette and LeBlanc + Smith - Cavan, Anna's and Sylvain. While working at Sylvain, Chris was selected for Starchefs New Orleans Rising Star Restaurant Week. He also worked at Harrah's New Orleans for the past year.
Chris is survived by his parents, Charlene Verne (momma), Steven Verne (step-dad), Michael Hamm (father) and Kathy Hamm (step-mother). Grandparents, Daniel and Lorraine Fernandez (deceased), Elizabeth Hamm (deceased). Canine siblings, Wyatt, Doc, Cody, Bandit, Annie and Holly. Unks and aunties, Shirley and David Ariz, Steven (deceased) and Mary Fernandez, Kenny and Blanch Fernandez, Lisa (deceased) and Jay Leopold, Brian and Cel Fernandez, Keith and Kathleen Fernandez. Cousins, Lauren and Mike, Kristen and Mike, Ericka and Craig, Upu and Matt, Jantzen and Sharon, Kamalani, Kuuipo and Travis, Jared and Ashley, Christian, Daniel, Keilani and Rudy and 12 baby cousins.
A Celebration of Chris' Life will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at The Rambler, 507 Frenchman Street, New Orleans, from 3:00-10:00pm. Please come wearing your favorite team jersey or hat. Chris' Momma, Auntie and Unks would love to hear how you met and your favorite memory of him. A second Celebration of Life will be held in Seattle in May. The exact date is still undetermined.
