Danny Paul Simar

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday April 11, 2025, at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Evangeline, LA for Mr. Danny Paul Simar, 68, who passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at his residence in Evangeline, LA surrounded by his loved ones.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the Matthews Funeral Home in Jennings, LA. on Thursday April 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday April 11, 2025, from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
Reverend Paul Lafleur will be officiating the services.
Interment will follow in the St. Joseph's cemetery in Evangeline, LA.
Danny was born in Jennings, LA on May 28, 1956, to Lloyd "Sonny" Simar of Longville, LA and Loah Bergeaux of Evangeline, LA. Danny held a career in the oilfield industry as a supervisor. He was a beloved father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Danny is survived by his five daughters, Dannielle Benoit, Ashley Cashi, Angelina Simar, Justine Simar (Amber) and Lana Simar; one son, Josh Simar (Michelle); two brothers, Steve Simar (Kathy) and Edwin Simar (Shannon); three sisters, Phoebe Miller, Lucinda Lopez (Carl) and Lisa Hebert (Darryl); eight grandchildren, Gavin Benoit (Breanna), Kassie Benoit, Hunter McKevitt, Gracie McKevitt, Destiny Landry, Justis Wray, Noah Boutin and Miracle Boutin; one great grandchild, Greyson Benoit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Llyod "Sonny" Simar and Loah Bergeaux Simar; two brothers, Wayne Simar and Dale Simar; one brother-in-law, Lynn Miller; one sister-in-law, Linda Simar.
