Donald Farrow Obituary
Donald Dean Farrow was born in Clear Lake, Iowa to Samuel and Irene (Bower) Farrow on August 16, 1932. He attended Adel High School and graduated in 1950. He served in the US Air Force (1952-1956).
He worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Des Moines, Iowa in 1956 and was transferred to the corporate office in 1959. He filled various positions and retired as head of information services after 33 years.
He was a member of Fairlawn Lutheran since it's doors opened in 1959, serving as youth group leader, choir director, soloist, treasurer, and president.
Donald married Sharon Irene Harman on April 5, 1959 in Sac City, Iowa. They had 5 children, David, who died in infancy, Annette (Ken)Baker, Rowe, NM, Steven (Debbie) Farrow, Linwood, KS, Susan (Joseph) Petrak, Seville, OH and Kristina (Michael) Van Arsdale, Colorado Springs, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, son, David, brothers, Lynn, Bob, Jay and sisters, Louise Jones, Maxine Farrow, Leona Rutledge and Dorothy Fessler.
He is survived by his 4 children; sister, Helen Peterson, Clear Lake, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Brandi Kiehl, Ian Baker, Grant Baker, Rebekah Farrow, Samuel Farrow, Michael Petrak, Jacqueline Petrak, Jordan (Nate) Baer, Elise (Luke) Larson and Samantha Van Arsdale; 2 great grandchildren, Leon and Emma Baer.
Calling Hours will be held THURSDAY, September 15 from 10AM-12PM at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Akron, 44333. Memorial Service THURSDAY, September 15 at 7PM at Fairlawn Lutheran Church, 3415 W. Market St. Fairlawn, 44333. Private Inurnment will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairlawn Lutheran Church.
