James Brown Obituary

James was born on November 26, 1927, in Sand Spring, Oklahoma to Gus and Flossie (Johnson) Brown. He proudly served in the Navy in World War II in the Asiatic Pacific and during the Philippine Liberation. He retired from Rockwell- Collins in 1983. James was a longtime member of Bertram United Methodist Church.
Survivors include nieces Susie Shulgin, Betty Hall, Winnie Alger, Carol Olson; nephews James Coonfare, John Jones, Kevin Brown; several great and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gus Brown Jr., and Edwin Brown; sisters, Arladene Coonfare and Margaret Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bertram United Methodist Church, 211 Angle Street., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52403.
