Jeffrey L. “Jeff” Dehart, Sr., age 68 of Fayetteville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Born June 15, 1956, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of Joyce Brookens Dehart and the late Carl Dehart.
Jeff was a 1974 graduate of CASHS and the former Franklin County Vo-Tech School. He went on to served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jeff worked as a mechanic for 30 years for the Commonwealth of PA, DCNR, retiring in June of 2017. He was a member of the Cumberland Valley Antique Engine and Machinery Association and the Waynesboro American Legion. He enjoyed antique tractors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and reading about the Civil War.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jody R. Shrader Dehart, whom he married on May 5, 1979; two children, Jennifer Fleshman (Eric Jorgenson) of Hagerstown, MD, and Jeffrey L. Dehart, Jr. (Jaime) of Galway, NY; five grandchildren, Lenna Norton (Brandon), Chyenne Fleshman and Jack, Owen, and Cooper Dehart; s sister, Carol Harbaugh (Eric); brother-in-law, Earl Shrader III (the late Karen); and two nieces, Amy Shrader and Samantha Santiago (Todd); and two nephews, Earl Shrader IV (Chris) and Matthew Harbaugh (Tosha); and a great nephew, Leighton Harbaugh.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April, 18, 2025, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 6 - 8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and address above. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
