John Thomas Tieken

John Thomas Tieken, 72, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at his home. He was born November 10, 1951 in Evansville to the late John Peter and Marion Frances (Spahn) Tieken.
John graduated from Reitz High School in 1971. He served in the United States Army for two years and was stationed in Germany. He has been employed at Dana Corporation for 51 years. John enjoyed working and keeping busy. He was very talkative and never met a stranger. John treasured the time that he spent with his family.
He is survived by his son, Scott (Donya) Tieken; daughter, Sarah (Robert) Wright; sisters, Barbara Lindenschmidt and Deborah (Kent) Schaefer; brothers, Kenneth (Kimberly) Tieken, Fred (Glenda) Tieken and Bill (Pam) Tieken; grandchildren, Andrew (Bree), Quentin (Ashlyn), Cheyenne, Corbin, Peyton, Austin and Samantha; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Tieken.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Ave., Evansville. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2024 at All Saints Parish – St. Anthony Church, 704. N. First Ave., Evansville.. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Father Ray Brenner officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the church.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
