Joseph Vincent Tarpey

Joseph Vincent Tarpey, 82, of Warwick, RI, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Linda R. (Forcier) Tarpey, with whom he recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

He was born in Attleboro, MA to the late Joseph F. and Gertrude R. (McHale) Tarpey of Pawtucket. After more than two decades in the automotive industry, Joseph was a Head Custodian with the Warwick Public School Department, from which he retired after twenty-four years of service.

Joseph will be remembered as a proud and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who dedicated his life to those he loved. He was honored to have served in the military. He was an avid classic car enthusiast, a passion he lovingly shared with his youngest daughter Sheri. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his grandson Dylan, who referred to him as "Papa" and shared his love for both classic cars and model trains. Joseph's sense of humor will be remembered by his family, especially his daughter Sheri, with whom he shared his quick-witted nature.

Joseph is survived by his two daughters Suzanne (Tarpey) Mendonca (partner Robert Falvey) and Sheryl Tarpey, his grandson Dylan Mendonca, his former son-in-law Francis Mendonca, and his four-legged grandson Jack V. Tarpey.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 4-7pm at Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. His funeral will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 9:30am in the funeral home, with the Interment immediately following at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, in Pawtucket.
