Joshua Wilson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 13, 2016.
JOSHUA MICHAEL WILSON November 4, 1979 ~ March 13, 2016 "Son, brother, husband, father, teacher, and friend." Joshua Michael Wilson, age 36, was born in Vancouver, WA on Nov. 4, 1979. He passed away from a brain tumor, Sun., March 13, 2016, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Josh grew up in the Vancouver School District attending Felida, Alki, and Columbia River High School. He graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor's in Education. He returned to the school district as a teacher at Marshall, where he made his career teaching fourth and fifth grades. Josh was an outdoorsman, an avid reader, and so much more. He was a smart mouth, quick on his feet, and could make anyone laugh. He was kind and sensitive and would go above and beyond to help anyone in need. He was a lumberjack teddy bear. Josh was deeply committed to his wife and daughters. After being diagnosed, Josh squeezed every opportunity out of life to make lasting memories with his family. The girls will most remember his silliness, belly laughs, and bone crushing bear hugs. Josh is survived by his wife, Alyssa Wilson; daughters, Ainsley (4) and Aisla (2); mother, Constance Wilson; sisters, Abby White (Kennedy) and Rachael Honsinger (Travis); and countless loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Craig Wilson. A celebration of Josh's life will be held Fri., March 25th from 6-9p.m. at the Clark County Event Center, Hall B. Families are welcome and plaid attire is encouraged. A memorial education fund has been set up for Josh's daughters at iQ Credit Union, in branch, or sent via mail: iQ Credit Union _ Attn: Bonnie Clapp FBO Alyssa Wilson, PO Box 1739, Vancouver, WA 98668-1739. I remember my dad's warm hugs. I also remember when he was in a hospital bed in our house, me and my sister, would paint his toes pink and purple. I loved his company and there will always be a hole in my heart where he used to be.

Alyssa,
So sad to hear of Josh's passing. I just keep thinking of your wonderful wedding and the joy of that day - your beautiful little girls and your happiness at finding Josh. There aren't words to convey the depth of my sympathy. Treasure your memories and the years you shared - your little girls that you and Josh so lovingly brought into the world. My prayers are with you Alyssa and my deepest condolences.
