Joyce Helen Smith, age 84, of Warren, died on November 13, 2021. Born on July 2, 1937, at Grace Hospital in Detroit to Diana Ducharme Buckley and Joseph Edmund Buckley. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Edmund Buckley, sisters Shirley Buckley Lusk Shore, Karen Buckley Phillips, Gail Buckley Danielak, brother Larry Buckley, and great-granddaughter Rachel Joyce Miller. Survived by her brother Ricky Buckley, daughter Sherri (Gordon) Miller, grandchildren Sarah Miller, Ian Miller, Anastasia (Bdar) El Fathi, Christa Miller, son Steve (Kathy) Smith, grandchildren Nicole (Craig) Giordano, Gary (Therese) Smith, great-grandchildren Robby Dinsmore, Joey Smith, Bdar El Fathi Jr., Chloe Giordano, and Baby Girl Smith (due in December), as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Joyce was a volunteer for the Girls Scouts, Cub Scouts, Room Mother at school and volunteered in nursing homes and Bear Brigade sewing bears for cancer patients. Always ready to help family and friend in need, she opened her home to her children's friends and gave several people a place to live over the years. A graduate of Lincoln High School, class of 1955, Joyce worked as a secretary at Chrysler until she became a stay-at-home mom. Later, she went back to work as an administrative assistant, but also worked as a nanny for about 18 months. She maintained a good attitude during her sickness and was happy to leave her body behind and go to heaven. No services are scheduled. A private burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery.
